Axis License Plate Verifier cameras

AXIS License Plate Verifier reads licence plates on the camera itself, for vehicle access control and parking. It keeps allow-lists and block-lists, and recognises vehicle type, colour, make and model.

  • AXIS P1485-LE Kit: Axis’s replacement for the P1455-LE-3 and P1465-LE-3.
  • AXIS P3285-LVE Kit: Axis’s replacement for the P3245-LVE-3 and P3265-LVE-3.
  • AXIS P1486-LE Kit: one of Axis’s newest products, on its new-products page in October 2026.

How DoorFlow opens the gate

DoorFlow supports two ways. When the camera reads an allowed plate, either:

  • The camera opens the gate, with its own relay and an allow-list that DoorFlow manages.
  • DoorFlow decides: the camera sends the plate to DoorFlow, which checks access and opens the gate.

Licences

Each camera needs its own License Plate Verifier licence from Axis (eLicense part number 01574-001), with a 60-day free trial. Axis sells it in Australia, the EU, the UK and the US, and says it is “available in selected countries”.

Camera requirements

Axis says the app needs a camera with an ARTPEC-8 chip or later, running AXIS OS 11.11 or later. Every camera on this page has AXIS OS 12.11 available. A camera bought some time ago may need an AXIS OS upgrade before the app installs.
